The ski area
Grandvalira links seven sectors in eastern Andorra: Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp, plus the high ground between them. Together they offer 215 km of slopes, 142 runs and 74 lifts between 1,710 and 2,640 m. The pistes are wide and easy to read, with a generous share of green and blue and enough reds to fill a week. The Andorra Pass adds Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís for 308 km in total.
The 2026/2027 season runs from 4 December 2026 to 4 April 2027. Altitude and extensive snowmaking usually keep the slopes in good shape, though the wind can blow hard above the tree line.
Who is Grandvalira for?
Families and beginners are in the right place: roomy nursery areas, big ski schools and compact villages. Soldeu and El Tarter are the nicest bases, with ski-in/ski-out hotels on the slopes. Pas de la Casa, right on the French border, is cheaper, busier and livelier after dark. Advanced skiers find black runs and freeride zones, but mainly come for the sun and the mileage.
Practical
From Brussels it is well over 1,100 km by road, so a flight to Barcelona (± 200 km) or Toulouse with a hire car or shuttle is the usual choice. Andorra is outside the EU: expect a customs check and limits on tax-free purchases. A day pass costs around 69 euros in high season; booking online is cheaper.
