  • Ideal for lessons, a first taste of skiing or a tune-up before the Alps
  • Under 2 hours from Antwerp and about 2.25 hours from Brussels

Cons

  • Indoor skiing is short and repetitive: five slopes totalling 930 m
  • A day pass from 53.50 euros plus equipment hire is not cheap for what you get
  • Busy and noisy at weekends and during school holidays

Best for

  • Beginners taking lessons before an Alpine trip
  • Families with children trying snow for the first time
  • Snowboarders and racers who want to train in summer

The ski area

SnowWorld Landgraaf has five indoor slopes under one roof. Slope 1 is the showpiece: a red run of 400 m, the longest indoor slope in the Benelux, served by a six-person chairlift. Beside it, slope 2 is a 400 m blue, while slopes 3, 4 and 5 are short practice and children’s slopes of 60, 50 and 20 m. In total that is 930 m of real snow, with eight lifts including the chairlift, tows and conveyor belts. The hall is open 365 days a year from 9 am to 10 pm, with a winter programme running from 1 October 2026 to 26 April 2027.

It is not a mountain, and after an hour on the main slope you will know every bump. But as a training ground it is excellent: the snow is consistent, the slopes are wide enough for lessons and the ski school teaches everyone from toddlers to adults returning after years away.

Who is SnowWorld Landgraaf for?

Beginners above all. A few lessons here before an Alpine holiday mean you spend your expensive first day in the mountains skiing rather than falling over on the nursery slope. Families with young children can see whether the kids enjoy snow before committing to a week away. Snowboarders use the park features, and competitive racers train here in the off-season. For experienced skiers it is a fun evening out, not a destination.
